Marsa Mubarak Snorkeling with Sea Turtles
Marsa Mubarak Snorkeling with Sea Turtles
The moment you slip off the back of the boat, the surface world goes quiet — and a turtle rises to meet you.
Marsa Mubarak is one of the last Red Sea bays where green turtles and their seagrass meadows still thrive undisturbed. Swimming here isn't sightseeing — it's a few hours inside an ocean that still works the way it's supposed to.
Best for: Families, first-time snorkelers, and marine-life lovers.
You came to the Red Sea for a morning like this. The boat pushes off from the marina, the coastline slips away behind you, and somewhere under the turquoise ahead a sea turtle is already gliding over the reef — unhurried, ancient, waiting for you to get in.
At Marsa Mubarak you slide off the back of the boat and the surface world goes quiet. Below you the reef opens into a wall of colour — parrotfish grazing the coral, shoals turning together like a single mind, and then the slow, dinner-plate shadow of a green turtle rising to breathe beside you. Two guided snorkel stops give you time to stop counting the minutes and simply float, weightless, in water so clear the seabed looks close enough to touch.
Marsa Mubarak is one of the last bays on this coast where turtles and their seagrass meadows still thrive undisturbed — a pocket of the Red Sea that behaves the way the whole sea once did. Sharing the water with a wild turtle here is less a photo opportunity than a quiet reminder that you are a guest in a world that was doing perfectly well before you arrived. Most people surface calmer than they went in.
Back on deck a buffet lunch is waiting, the sun dries the salt on your skin, and the boat drifts you to a shallow sandbank where the water turns the colour of glass. Everything else — hotel pickup and drop-off, all your gear, an unhurried pace — is already handled; all you bring is a swimsuit. You will step back onto the shore carrying the particular, unshakeable calm that only a long day in open water leaves behind — the kind that outlasts the tan.

We can definitely recommend this trip! Everything went smoothly, the team was very kind, and they took great care of us. We saw turtles and a dugong during the trip. We went diving and snorkeling as well. If we had more time in Egypt, we would definitely book more trips with this crew!
