Overview
You wake to a hotel pickup and a short ride to the marina, where the yacht is already warming its engines. Within the hour Hurghada's shoreline shrinks behind you and the Red Sea opens up — that impossible band of turquoise deepening to sapphire as the reefs draw near.
At the first site your instructor runs through the basics, fits your gear and stays at your shoulder as you sink below the surface. The noise of the world switches off. Perfect day. Did my first dive and couldn't stop smiling. The instructor was brilliant and the reefs were stunning. Lovely lunch too.
