Yes. Introductory ("intro") dives are designed for complete beginners: after a briefing and shallow-water practice with your instructor, you dive to around 5-8 meters on a one-to-one basis. No licence or experience is needed — just reasonable health and swimming confidence. Many Hurghada boat trips include an optional intro dive alongside snorkeling.
Intro dives added to a boat trip start around €20-30. Two-dive trips for certified divers typically cost €40-60 including equipment, lunch and hotel transfers. A full 3-day PADI Open Water certification course costs around €375 including theory, confined-water training, open-water dives and certification fees.
The Red Sea off Hurghada is one of the world's richest reef systems: hard and soft coral gardens around Giftun Island and Abu Ramada, clouds of anthias and butterflyfish, moray eels, blue-spotted rays, turtles, and frequent dolphin encounters. Visibility of 20-30 meters is normal for most of the year.
Diving runs year-round. Water temperatures range from about 22°C in winter to 29°C in late summer. March to May and September to November combine warm water, excellent visibility and fewer crowds. Winter diving is excellent too — you simply wear a thicker wetsuit.
